I am first and foremost a son and a servant of God defined by grace (1 Corinthians 15:10). Along with that I’m also a youth pastor in Memphis, TN and an incoming/current student at Southern Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. I believe that the biggest problem in Christianity today is that we don’t see God for who He is, that He is Holy, has all authority, and yet also is to be enjoyed. Sure we say He is Holy, and yes He is! His name is Holy (Ezekiel 39:7) But somewhere along the way there’s a disconnect and we are missing that His holiness, his authority, that God Himself is to be enjoyed. Children of God need to know that God is not to be endured, He is to be enjoyed! God is our exceeding joy (Psalm 43:4), He is fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore! (Psalm 16:11)

I love to have people fill in this blank: “I enjoy _______ the most.” The reality of that question/statement is this, if we can’t truly put “God” in that blank then we have a serious problem, which is a problem of not seeing Him for who He is. I believe that to the degree that we see Him is to the degree that we will worship Him as He is seeking (John 4:22-24), seeking for our good and His glory.

1 Chronicles 13:8 says, “And David and all Israel were celebrating before God with all their might, with song and lyres and harps and tambourines and cymbals and trumpets.” This is what I want to see happen in the lives of those at camp. I want people to celebrate God in spirit and in truth, with all of their might, with everything within them!

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name!” (‭Psalm‬ ‭103‬:‭1‬)
